In 1978, the Toyota Supra name first appeared as a variant of the Toyota Celica. By 1986, the car was offered as a standalone model, with the grand tourer featuring a variety of naturally aspirated, turbocharged, and twin-turbo six-cylinder engines that teamed to rear-wheel drive and either manual or automatic transmissions. The Toyota Supra was discontinued following the 1998 model year, and then brought back in 2020.
Standard features included anti-lock brakes, restyled headlights, fog lights, 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and a Targa roof.
